When developers ask where their customers are, they usually want one of three answers: which markets have ever produced a real purchase, which countries are active now, or where growth is appearing over time. A raw customer list does not answer those questions well. You need to group qualifying subscription records by a consistent country field.
Important: RevenueCat country information should be treated as a transaction or store country. It is not proof of nationality, current location, or customer travel.
What “customer country” means
Country data can reflect store or transaction information present on a purchase record. That makes it useful for market-level summaries, but not for tracking individuals. Use it to say “our app has reached Spain” rather than “this customer lives in Spain.”
The distinction matters for both accuracy and privacy. A user may travel, change stores, or use an account associated with a different region. Good country analytics preserve that uncertainty instead of overstating the data.
Build a clean country signal
Before counting a country as reached, define which records qualify. Reachly uses a conservative rule:
- The record comes from the production environment.
- It represents a valid subscription or purchase.
- A supported transaction country is present.
- It is not a sandbox transaction.
- It was not fully refunded.
- A trial must have converted rather than simply started.
This keeps test activity and reversals from inflating the footprint. Once a legitimate country is reached, Reachly preserves it as a historical stamp even if no subscription remains active there.
See customers by country in Reachly
- Open Reachly and choose RevenueCat as the source.
- Connect with OAuth or a read-only RevenueCat V2 API key.
- Select the projects and apps that belong in the combined passport.
- Let Reachly process qualifying records locally and build country summaries.
- Open Passport for the permanent footprint or Map for reached, unvisited, active, historical, app, continent, and timeline views.
Use the combined view to understand a whole portfolio. Switch to one app when you need to know whether a particular product is expanding beyond its core market.
Questions the map can answer
Which countries have ever converted?
Use permanent stamps. Historical countries remain visible, so temporary churn does not erase the story.
Which markets are active now?
Hide historical countries in the map or compare the active-market count with the total footprint.
Where did growth happen first?
Use the journey timeline and first-reached dates to replay geographic expansion.
Can I share the result?
Yes. Reachly renders country stamps, global maps, passport reveals, and monthly recaps locally. Share the aggregate milestone instead of exposing a customer list.
